So it was back out to the back yard tonight to kill some time before supper. Found my oldest coin, a 1903 Indian head cent to add to the barber dime I found back there. Best I can figure is some kid lost some of dads collection during previous ownership.

Anyhow while showing my cohorts at work my newfound treasure one of them decided to bring in her collection. These coins were found in her uncle's house after his death. Apparently there were medicine bottles all around the house filled with coins which were split up between the family members. She let me go through them and take some pictures (camera phone. not so great quality) to share with you all.

All told there were about approx.. 20 morgan dollars, 45 Barber dimes, 3 SLQ, a few wheaties, some war nickles, one medicine bottle of liberty head nickles, one bottle of steel cents, a whole bunch of mercs, silver quarters, barber quarters, some Ikes, some Kennedys and 2 candian coins.

The only key date I could find was a 1901 s barber that was fairly well worn.

Enjoy :)

Don't I know it. Being new to this the barber I found was the first one I ever handled.

on that note. Damn those morgan dollars are heavy. could never imagine having a pocket full. ouch.

Just imagine if those silver dollars could talk...What a story they could tell!...Thanks for the story and pics...And congrats on the 1903 IH...They sure are fun to dig up.

Nice finds and that hoard is awesome! HH, Mike
