Sorry for the video and audio quality on that. The old IPod Touch isn't the greatest tool for that, but it's just so small and easy to carry in my pocket, lol.
Anyway, I got out in my old reliable field after lunchtime and the deer hunters had left. As I said in the video, I had never found coins in the farthest end of the field, but I thought I was going to concentrate on it anyway. First find was one of the modern copper jacketed bullets. Last find was the other one. In between, I found the odd little gold gilded item. I have posted a couple pics of it on " What Is It " forum, so maybe between there and here, Someone will tell me what it is. The LC is typical for this field ~ toasted beyond recognition. I guess Tom and Beez STILL don't know what one looks like if they have to use this as an example lol! Other 2 items are flattened old round balls. Thanks for looking and I hope someone can ID the little oddity.

Nice going on the LC and the button/cuff stud find, it'll be interesting to see the results after you clean it up a bit.

Cleaning a bit with the naval jelly has only revealed more gilt with no engraving or patterns.

It's a cufflink. I have an example that has the same sort of attachment on the back.

Thanks BB! Late 1800's, you think? I have found everything from early KG ll's to modern coins there.

Yeah, I'd say your right on about the age. Late 1800s

Your so old, olddude it was probably yours, you just forgot because your so old.

Brad, I don't own a tie, a pair of cuff links OR a Dickie, lol!

Nice finds! Finding a LC makes it a good day!
The LC isn't that far gone, you can make out the facial out line and the wreath and one cent on the back! You maybe able to get a date off it with a little coaxing.
That thing does look like a cuff link with the bottom broken off.
Hope you get confirmation on that.

Any date on the LC?

Nice finds OD..Dirty pic's are always good just proves it came from the ground and then into your collection...

No date....I have found something like 8 or 9 big coppers in this field and never got a date from any.

Thanks PP

Dave, if it was me I'd try oil on the lc not zap it. I have used straight lemon juice for about twenty minutes.I did that to that last button I found that had so much gold gilt to it.

Try using this below, I use it on all my old copper without fail..

Nice variety there dude:headbang:

The jelly sure brought out the gilt on the piece, nice job of cleaning it up.

I think I could watch videos only showing fields! :) Evey one that's short enough to hunt looks good.

I see you got your ID on the thingy.

Very nice finds OD.

And just to set the record straight, I found and LC. I know what one looks like. GL&HH!
