I think the knife is neat. The other piece almost looks like it has very shallow basal notches:) looks like it had a pretty clean break.nice finds. Some sweet pieces you have found around there

Those are nice. What is the name of the substrate?

Hey DigIron2, I'm guessing this is what a corner-notched piece looks like after being resharpened a few times, shallow shoulder with barbs, one broke off in this case. And yes it was a clean break on the base. Looks like what some people call a snap base Kirk, but I think most or all are just broken points. Thanks for the reply.
Kirk Snapped Base Projectile Point

Trooper733, The material is Quartzite,Thanks.

i got one like the first one, well type of break.that curve, thanks for sharing.

Glad you had time to get out with your son and find some artifacts. Good hunt

It might be a snapped base.it does look pretty clean,I wouldn't be sure how to tell?Your knife kind of reminds me of something I have seen called a Spokeshave. From what I gather they are mostly found just west of you.Not saying it is ,but it reminded me of it?

I think most collectors believe there is no Kirk snapped base, just broken points. Maybe invented by dealers to sell a broken point as complete. I have seen a few examples that appear to be salvaged for further use, but to intentionally break off the only means of hafting seems a little silly. The knife does seem to have a big spokeshave on it, not for sure. I think spokeshaves are found all over, not always part of a knife, lots are made on a flake or part of a different tool like a scraper.

I know what you mean, that would be silly.I also wonder why some points have a fractured base also, like a Decatur? From what i have read it was used as a manufacturing shortcut, but on some examples it seems like it really lessens the hafting area that much more.I don't see anything called a spokeshave on our side of the map.The ones I was revering to are found in Kentucky,Tennessee, and a little north and south from there. I want to post the examples I was talking about, but there is something wrong this stupid camera wire inlet on my computer and i can't get it to work.

Nice find.
It reminded me of this funky one I found a while back

Just fossil heavy coastal plains.
Almost like rice grain gone out of control

Hopefully The Grim Reaper does not mind me sharing this good info from another site.
Spokeshaves
The example in the second pick down looks very similar to yours.Kind of looks like the ones I was talking about also.thanks for the link viking.
