one Wheatie and a Whatzit?

I recently got permission to hunt an old foundation on the corner of a farmers field here in missouri. I found a 1942 D Wheatie and a ton of trash. I also found this whatzit? I have no idea . Maybe some of you tnetters can help me out. It looks like a bullet but I really don't think it is. It is brass and has a cap on one end that has the letter B stamped into it. When you shake it there is something in there but I don't know if I should or not cuz it could be hazardous. Thanks Tom

These lipstick tubes were given out as samples. The ladies could wear it and decide if they liked the color before buying a full size tube.
