That's what I thought when I dug up this hand gun on the beach of the Delaware River. Someone either lost it or tossed it...?
After cleaning a bit I realized it was only a .177 caliber pellet gun made by Marksman called the "Repeater". So no need to contact the authorities !

Oh yea it did!
I thought.. ( things flashing in my mind) Murder weapon...investigation... blood... who what and where did it happen...ghost all kinds of crazy stuff. I smelled death in the air but it was a decaying channel cat fish. So relieved when I saw the caliber of it!

I had that same model pellet gun as a kid too. I think they still make it. It looks very similar to a semi auto pistol and could possibly still have been used in a crime. When someone is waving a gun in your face asking for money you don't take the time to determine if its real or not.

I had one of those as a kid. They are supposed to look like a military colt 45. You pull back the rear of the slide to cock it while tilting the barrel up so a BB goes in the chamber. It didn't have much power, it just stung a bit at 10 feet. It could barely knock a can over. Still a neat find that gets your heart pounding.

Are you kidding? That's a Magnum P.I. You could put an eye out with that thing! That BB could lodge under the skin and cause a very nasty infection!!!

Now... if you found Jimmy Hoffa... I wouldn't be surprised.

I live on the Delaware in Hunterdon. Only thing I ever find is rusty fishing hooks, lures and pop tops.
