only new coins?

I inquired about purchasing a box of halves from my bank and was told they only get brand new coins in when they order like that. Did I do something wrong, or should I check out another bank?

Two things. When they say "brand new" they mean rolled up by a machine, and not returned by their customers. Either that, or they are lying to you because they are too lazy to order. Get a box from them and see what it it is, you don't stand to lose anything but time.

One thing that has surprised me in my CRH "career" is how little many bank employees actually know about how the whole system works.

I would Definitely order and see what they get you. Im sure when they order coins for themselves they are not new coins only in new wrappers..

I agree- If I had a dollar for every bank person that has told me- 'You won't find anything old, there is never anything old in boxes'... I have 1000s of silver coins that beg to differ-
