now what to do with it --can't roll it and turn it in since the local banks require that your name be placed on the rolls when deposited ( do not want my name linked to smutty stuff --since I live in a "small town" tongues wag a mile a minute here)--can't turn it in loose since the tellers at the local banks are all female and know me and the wife well --and they most likely would be highly "offended'-- heck I got em all on good terms , so I do not want to mess that up. -- so looks like I'm stuck with it --unless I ditch it when in jacksonville some time .

you folks run across stuff like this often ?- this is the "first" defaced by smut one I found like this :tongue3:

Since it is only 50 cents, what I would do is throw it in my scrap pile for the next time I go to the scrap yard.

The inscription, I mean. Not throwing the coin away - it's perfectly good money.

I have an 1837 Large Cent in which the word "Cent" on the reverse has been modified. The vowel was changed...y'all figure it out. I cannot imagine why someone would deface a coin of such value (if it was done anytime in the last 100 years), or even when it was relatively new (because a penny was actually worth something then). I'm no prude by any means, but taking the time and making the effort to deface coinage in this manner is really distasteful - its not funny or clever, as those who do it probably imagine themselves to be.

I got a destroyed kennedy last year that said F---ing heads and F---tails since you could no longer see anything on either side. I found it quite funny and decided to keep it for goodluck.

A few years ago I was going through my father in laws coin collection he left for his daughter. I also found a Large cent with the same modification to the word cent. So there's at least a population of 2 of those. Mine is in my safe deposit box with a letter of explanation.

As for the Kennedy half - next time you are going to be near a large river take the half with you, make a wish and give it throw. The coin will be gone for good and your wish just might come true. Especially if the wish was to get rid of a vulgar coin.
