I have been on a Treasure Hunt for the Origin of the Alaska Centennial Nugget. Where did this amazing nugget actually come from?

Nobody knows!

It was discovered by Barry Clay while pushing dirt on a slope with a Bulldozer near Swift Creek Mine in the Ruby Mining District of Alaska.

That knowledge reduces the size of the "circle" we can draw on the map!

This should be a fascinating subject to learn more about.

History and Sale

Private Ownership: After finding it with a bulldozer, Barry Clay initially hid the nugget near a tree. An unnamed private buyer owned it for about 30 years.

Auction: It was put up for sale through Heritage Auctions and sold for $750,000 in December 2021.

Metal detectors have covered the area for years searching for the "Big Nuggets" relatives! Nobody has found the source of the Big Nugget until now!

Using a few clues and applying what we know, a systematic and logical process has led to the highest probability location!

"Nugget value" includes factors that add value to rare, one of a kind nuggets. At the time of the previous sale, I estimated the melt value at around $2500 x 300 ounces = $750K. It sold at a price over $1M.
