If it was illegally looted it will be worth about fifty floggings.

Does your friend also have the proper Export document(s) from the Egyptian authorities to export and sell the item?
If there is legible writing on the papyrus, has it been translated and available to a buyer?
What evidence does your friend possess to say it is an 'original'?
Too many other questions to ask and be answered before any serious response can be offered though 'floggings' as mentioned above is good.-IMO.

The item is worth the authenticity tests performed and confirmed, as well as all legal fees that are associated with it. Then there is historical significance as well, which could mean squat or a great deal of money proper collector.

Would you mind listing the item so I can check it through Interpol catalogues as well as some sources through ICOM.

I have one, brought back from Egypt, souvenir - just a few bucks
If your going to ask questions about an item, you need to provide pictures and dimensions , provenance , papers and so on
if you don't, most folks cant and wont take you serious -
IMO
