Occasionally my surf master dual field's threshold will start to wax and wane on a regular frequency. I wonder if you all would know what adjustment to make. Playing with the threshold just makes it louder or softer. I am afraid to decrease gain because of potential loss of sensitivity. Dose it have anything to do with the pulse timing? Why would one adjust pulse timing?

This is common these days with the increase of EMI. There isn't much you can do and all detectors are affected, especially PI's. Turn off cell phone....

If it is EMI, and it probably is, changing the pulse delay will not help. Increasing the pulse delay is used to reduce sensitivity to certain nuisance targets like canslaw.
