Otterville What's it....

Here's a what's it from the Otterville hunt. It was deep enough and the ground was hard enough that I had to have a bit of quality help to dig it up! :D 35 thinks it may have been a hanger for a kettle or something. What do ya'll think?

Thanks! Nana :)

Nana.... a long time ago ( more years than I care to remember... LOL ) down on the railroad we had many lights and lamps that still used oil as fuel and they would carbon up pretty heavily. I saw the maintainers use a wire that was about that size and shape to clean the carbon and adjust the wicks. Maybe yours was used for the same thing during the Civil War. Just my guess.
