Ouija boards---what's your story?

This seems like a good time for the topic, and Marc's story is certainly compelling. When I read it, I was reminded of an experience I had a long time ago with an Ouija board.

We were teenagers (like I said, a long time ago) someone had an Ouija board at a party at a friends house. We asked it the standard questions, and when it was my turn I asked it who I would get married to. (16 years old, go figure)

Anyhow, the board spelled out the name 'FRED'. We all got a big hoot out of it and continued on doing things we were probably not supposed to be doing.

A little over 10 years later I finally got married. It was some time after that I saw another Ouija board and remembered my earlier experience. I got a cold shiver down my spine. My wife, Freda, never really believed the story... Too bad I didn't ask the board what kind of a person she would turn out to be

I've never been brave enough to put my hands on another planchette since.

Re: Ouija boards---what's your story?

leave them be --they open portals --once opened who knows what may cross over --you would not take your front door to your home off and let anyone who walked by enter your home would you ? -- spirit wise thats what you do with a ouija board. -- you've been warned -- mess with them and your soul and the peacefulness of your home is at grave risk

P.S. if you ever meet me --keep it far , far away from me if you have one --when I enter a home and sense one is there I'll ask the home owner to remove it ---if their unwilling to I'll say sorry I gotta go bye.

me and ouija boards just don't mix --- Ivan

NO Way....will I EVER touch nor have in my home a Ouija Board....some bad experiences playing with it back in the early-mid 70's...

Re: Ouija boards---what's your story?

same here.. keep it outta my home and away from me as well.. it originally was created by a very evil person..

Re: Ouija boards---what's your story?

i dont mess with them.

Re: Ouija boards---what's your story?

My older brother and sister and two neighbors played with one back in the 70's and I was watching them. Of course, the thing DID spell out things and all four of them were accusing each other of moving it over each letter. I was very skeptical until my sister started hearing voices calling her name and nobody was around. one night I had just walked into the kitchen and I heard my sister calling out from the bathroom saying "What do you want"..... After she said it a few times I asked her who she was talking to. I had thought she must have had the bathroom window open and was calling out to someone outside. She said that she was talking to me. I said that I had not said anything and that I had just walked in and she was already talking. That scared both of us. She continued hearing things and voices for a good while after that. The 18 year old neighbor boy that had played with the Ouija board with them had much more scary things happen to him. He had cabinet doors open on him as he was going through the kitchen and hit him pretty hard. Both the upper doors and the lower ones. He had the mop and broom hurled at him a few times, cups and plates flew at him too and this continued for quite some time. I know this seems hard to believe to someone who has not had any experience with a Ouija board but I have no reason to lie about it and I would also like to state my opinion on playing with them. I DO believe they work and I also believe you WILL open yourself to be visited by demons. Please stay away from them and if you ever hear about your kids playing with one of them make sure you destroy it.

Re: Ouija boards---what's your story?

I have never had a personal experience with a Ouija Board but I know a few people who have. I believe the things they have told me and it was some pretty spooky stuff, not at all the kind of experiences I'd like to have. I think there are some things we just don't need to fool with and Ouija boards may be one of them. I think they are a portal for spirits/demons and we simply let Satan walk right into our midst when use them because we are placing our faith in something other than God, even if it is just for fun. I wander if people have had any bizarre experiences with those 8 balls, that answer questions ??? LOL. Well anyway, I am a chicken and I guess that's one of life's little experiences I am willing to miss out on.

I never wanted to touch one...but I heard you shouldn't destroy them once you've "played" with them. It closes the portal and traps the demon/spirit here.

Yes we are serious. It doesn't hurt my feelings that you don't believe and I 100% recommend that you not play with one of them to see if we are telling the truth.

Re: Ouija boards---what's your story?

like i said not trying to be an ass,but i have "played with them"just to see and nothing.my sister, mother and cousins all claim to have seen "things"like my father and uncle that have passedwhen i say i've never seen anything i always get the same response...."you don't believe so you'll never see".that just dosen't wash with me.don't mean to insult anybody, but there just so much "ghostly happenings"out there why can't i get to see one?

Re: Ouija boards---what's your story?

I don't think the weird stuff happens all the time, and also not to everyone....

It's still obviously sold as a "game" even after all the years of folks having issues with them.

I also think folks who believe that something will happen see things happening - if that makes sense.

It's prolly a benign object in the hands of most...

Not all can see things as some can.....for instances...we have a "spirit" of sort in our home....we call him "George". I have never seen him, except in a pic I took that shows "someone" in my bedroom window, but my youngest boy has seen him. They say young children and animals (i.e., family dogs/cats) can see/sense what we can not.

No one can explain why some can and some can't witness / view / see the unknown, no more than can be explained if there is ghosts / poltergeist / spirits.

As Physics say can say they can speak to the dead or see in the future....I may not believe that... but I have never experienced it either. Like my baby Sis...who dreams and they come true...(I told her to NEVER tell me that she has dreamt of me!!!)

We all have the ability...it's just how far we are willing to LET GO. As for me...I wouldn't mind seeing in the past for some cache spots or the future on GOLD AND SILVER PRICES and what coins to save!!!

Hey Bomber, I really don't have an answer for you. It's sort of like UFO's with me. I've seen a few odd looking things in the sky but as far as seeing a real UFO, I haven't. If they are real I sure would love to see one up close (but not that close), lol.....You know what I mean. Have a good one
