I was asked if I'd be willing to take on a little side work. I said sure and worked out some terms that'll get me a paid road trip to eastern Utah. I always prefer crossing over the Rockies on a Sunday afternoon when just about half of the front rangers all return home to be back to work Monday morning.

Don't think that's westbound traffic gettin outta Denver on a Sunday afternoon, more like a Friday afternoon. Got stuck in that one time, and finally, just past Idaho Springs, got up to 35mph.

I haven't attempted to go west on I70 on a Friday afternoon in a very long time. I've seen that westbound direction many times coming home on a Friday afternoon.

I don't do much on I70 except that six mile run to Copper and then head south, which at times can be an ordeal, or heading out to Utah. 285 is getting just as bad. Once it cools down on the Front Range we'll get a break til ski season.

Probably a nice little break for everyone up there. Seems the fall trees are gaining a lot more visitors as the population keeps increasing.
