One of the first pieces of advice I ever got when I started picking is "Buy what you like"

At first I thought it just meant in case it doesn't sell and get stuck with the item then you won't mind keeping it. But over the years it has become trusting your own taste in finding quality.

If you like it then it's personally worth the expense.

I've heard the same advice myself. Interesting how it has evolved for you over the years to mean trust in your own taste. I always understood it to mean what you originally did. From that point of view I thought it was pretty bad advice. Many of the dealers I know that follow that advice don't follow trends & end up with a bunch of stuff that won't sell unless/until the items regain popularity.

I needed it for my random silver collection. Of yard sale finds. and then a jar of scrap.















The globe is a bank and ther are maybe 6 rolls of silver dimes in it.
