Own an E-trac but want another for the son to use with me.

Would like your thoughts on getting another MD to take the son with me when out hunting. He is Ten years old and on the small side. Would like another machine that would not cost as much as an E-trac but be a very nice machine to go coin hunting with me. The Father-in-Law might be using it at times also as he seems interested in doing some too.

I am leaning to the Ace 250 but before I buy I would like other options to consider. I am not set on staying in the Ace price range but it seems like a nice machine for the price.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The E-trac is my first MD and I have had it only a couple weeks now. SO I am lost as to what else is out there? Would used be the way to go or just buy a new one?

I have an Ace 250. Enjoy it tremendously. Great machine for the first one, it's light and has a short learning curve. As he gets older then think about another detector. Get the Ace, you and him will be happy.

I got my grandson an ACE 250 to get him started and he loves it and I do too very easy to learn how to use and has some of the same features the more costly ones have a great machine for the money. grandson is 9 yrs old

Thanks for the replies. I am leaning to the Ace but I am also looking at the Exterra line of minelab also.
