Found this padlock this past weekend at McKinley Scout Camp in Ohio. There is no lettering or manufacturers mark on it. Size is: 1 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 1/2" Any ideas as to original or vintage? It has the same design on both sides.

An identical warded padlock is illustrated in the 1895 Montgomery Ward & Co. catalog. At that time it retailed for 12¢, or $1.25/doz. A lock of the same design, but with a maker-marked shackle, is listed in Arnall's book, The Padlock Collector. Attributed to the Slaymaker-Barry Co. (c. 1888-1900), it is valued at $15 in Very Good condition.

Nice one PBK!

Wasted my time looking under Sears Roebuck.

I see the lock thing is solved thanks to the local wizard! As for the ammo, I'm not sure just what that rusted pointy thing is, but the cartridge next to it is either a blank or a squib load, probably military. Blanks are used for war exercises while the other is used to launch grenades or flares, etc. Monty

The 30/06 shell found at the camp was probably a salute load or blank load ,used for burials and 21 gun salutes. Bob
