It was a punishing 25 degrees out today with two inches of snow on the ground. Went back to the spot where I found my Rev War era stirrup. Spent almost two hours searching the general area and had ONE good signal, which rang up in the low 70's. I pulled out a colonial shoe buckle frame about 5 inches down. No tongue or chape, but at least the buckle's in nice shape.
The buckle has a thin frame and measures 1 1/2" by 2 3/8". Plain looking buckle, but still a great find in the middle of winter!
