This is a oil painting I did when I was 18. I was aboard the aircraft carrier Constellation in the Tonkin Gulf off the coast of Vietnam at the time. I thought I had done well as I had no training, no easel, and nothing to look at for reference. Didn't even have very many colors to work with. I call it "The Hermit". It is supposed to represent an old guy losing everything due to the death of his dog. I came across it a couple days ago and figured I'd hang it up again. It's a little larger than this pic and it's framed.
