I like to call them cortex tools

what is the other one you showed.is it paleo?

It's a late paleo early archaic point it's a beaver lake and by the flaking I'm thinking late paleo

ok,probally why they look so rough, being so old.the one in your avatar looks good beaver lake also?

Beaver lake was my guess. But think how old that is and just for it to survive in its environment. I have one and only one badly beaten up beaver lake. Here is the flaking on it. It is much smaller than yours. I do not care what anyone says a beaver lake it pretty rare in any condition.

Here sorry lol

they are nice, you have a great spot i see.is it a whitewater creek?

All spring fed creeks clear water no mud 99 percent rock one percent sand the water is drinkable straight from the stream

Painter you are on a major roll, nice find. It's hard to say if that flaking is right it is beat up pretty bad. 1 spot says maybe and then another says no, to me it could be a toss up, but still a great find.

Nice to hear from you been awhile hope all is good down in Mississippi ;) thanks for your opinion as well as the rest who shared their thoughts !!!!

Could of been a old one and then somebody found it a thousand or so years later and re chipped it to their needs. I have found stuff like that but of course not as old as yours.

The creek stain always makes it tough to see the change in patina boss
