Panning for not gold?

[Older The Better]

I found an old gold pan at my grandparents, I thought I’d go out and have fun with it. I have easy access to a river but being in se Kansas I have no delusions of gold nuggets. I was wondering what other things can show up in a pan?

Shot gun pellets and .22 slugs. It can be good practice panning any river sands and washing it down to the heavy black sands to develop a good technique of panning.
