Part of a ancient tool

Dug this up last week it's a part of a tool I am cleaning it up a little dose anybody have a guess on what kind of tool or how old it is

Looks like a broken piece of window latch or some other type of pot metal handle.

I'm with RobRieman. It's part of some kind of a handle. Maybe as, as you clean it, some identifier might show up.
