Congrats on going over 9000, just think one 840 coin day and you'd almost be there!! Nice totals and that is alot of penny digging!!

Jack you guys are cracking me up...or maybe I could visit a tot lot full of magic! :)

Thank's for posting the "coin counter" here on the TNet Gregg....By the end of the year you'll be ready for X-Mas....Congrat's and HH!!

942 coins left too find..wow what a big dent since a month ago,WTG Gregg..i hope you get over your cold soon and make your goal,if i was a betting man i'd say you'll make 10,000 by the 3rd week in November if not sooner.

you need to post a common question and answer form, like

how many hours do you detect a day?
are you running out of detecting sites?
whats your regular job?
what hurts the most?
etc, etc,

Right around the beginning of August I increased my hunts from 3 to 4 times a week... It is a bit draining at this point with other things going on...and I actually want to get it done this month!

3-4 hours a hunt, 4 times a week now, work midnights off at 8am...allows for hunting any day of week, 2 million people in the city I live in.... coin supply endless...places to hunt are endless....50 parks at least in a 20 mile radius....also beaches...forest preserves...schools..and so on...mainly worked around 14 right now total.... As far as what hurts the most...the thing that hurt the least when I started...the knees! My shoulders and back are more stiff then sore...my arms hurt too...I use a homemade sling...allows me to keep coil right near ground all the time...

I hope you can get it by the end of the month man...because your due for a rip van winkle BIG TIME!!!!!!!!

A few days off never hurts. I've been off myself. Glad to hear you broke the 9000 mark. You're there buddy, there is a big light at the end of that tunnel!

:P Bottle caps & pull tabs are my favorite! :P

But really, hope you get well quickly!

Gregg, you gotta be the hardest working guy in metal detecting history. I know your numbers are real. I have dug far less and have been mucho tired! Maybe your cold/flu has to do more with your work shift than it does MDing. I was 35 and working as an evening shift cop when they switched me to midnight shift.......10 to 8 am. I was sick for three weeks straight and couldnt barely talk. I was promoted to detective after that stint and recovered after a week of working 8 to 5 (or whatever). I remember getting new uniforms after 6 years two days before I became a detective, I still have those uniforms, never worn, in my closet ::). You need to look into changing shifts at whatever you do or find another job that allows you more time to swing a coil.

Congrats on so many coin finds. That is the most coins found that I have heard of. I look forward to the 10000 coin picture :)

Well you are right the midnights do run me down....hard to get promoted...10,000 took test...finished 1500 and something....only promoting top 200-300...9 years on now, pay extremely good in the city... So the shift change is an option once my kids get a little bigger....I spent most of time when not detecting or working helping with whichever sport they are playing...I have put a ton of hunts in this year....so once i hit 10,000 it will be time for a break... :)

Just finished my hunt for today...did not get my 100 coin day...but temps started in the 40's and by the time I finished it was sunny and in the 50's which was nice. Picked up a lot of surface clad...worked directly around the soccer field sidelines...hope you are right...about the two weeks weather is changing.. :-\

I posted in the general discussion forum a while back about an article that was sent to me about Paul Campbell featured back in 1999 Lost Treasure magazine..he found 23,000 in one year and 221,000 from 1995 to 1998. On that post someone mentioned Lloyd Coke who claims to have found 36,000 one year. Before receiving the article I did remember seeing an Explorer user on another forum find over 19,000.
