It finally stopped raining around here. We needed it bad as we were in a severe drought in this area. Our lakes are now full, and life is good once again. I was able to hit the plantation pasture again at lunch the last two days. I've been gridding it off which will take some time. I started at the lower end where the signals are few. As I work my way up towards the house, the hits will increase of course. The coins continue to elude me, but I still dug a few keepers, including my usual button quota.
Here's my finds:
*Old brass padlock with a nice green patina. The only thing I find on it is a "3" on the latch piece.
Any idea how old this one could be?
*A Holly looking piece of old jewelry with red stone pieces.
Any idea on this one?
*Tombac button - 25mm
*Tombac button - 18mm with design on front edge
*15mm flat button
*LEAD:
A chewed bullet. (Possibly chewed by Bigfoot or a Unicorn?)

A fired musketball
A cleaner bullet base
*A lead alloy spoon or fork piece.
Does this type of utensil metal date into the Colonial era or not that old?
That's all Folks!
Thanks for looking,
MM (a.k.a. Button Boy)

It turned out to be this old lock. Still a nice relic for the display case.
