I have 2 hens and 6 chicks running around the property.
Great birds for cleaning up the forest, field of bugs, and weed seeds.

Must be the right time of year. We've got a huge flock (four or five adults and two dozen youngsters) that have been visiting our yard the past couple of weeks. Last night some of them managed to get under the fence and into the berry patch. When we tried to encourage them to leave, they flew out but landed in the fenced garden. Fortunately they were able to fly out of there without any trouble too. (It has high fences to keep the deer out.)

Two days later there was a larger flock in a different part of my pasture

Out by Cheyenne in SWOK we'd flocks of 50 or 60 out in the fields.
