I was having no luck searching the patents so I took a shot at googling "Patent June 2, 1891" and this came up right away-

Vintage Metal Purse Top Patent June 2, 1891


This is a neat old metal purse frame top with a patent date stamped on each side; June 2, 1891. The purse frame pops open into the wide rectangular shape when you press the one end of the bar on the top of the purse. It has a wonderful patina and measures 2 3\/8" x 3" when open and 2 5\/8" when closed. You must push in the little knob on the end to snap the purse frame closed, as well as when you want the frame to open. There is still some of the original leather on the inside of the frame. There are "teeth" on the underside that hold the leather. Thanks.
