Personally, IIRC, I don't think the 180 day deal is a new thing.
Several years ago, I was reading another forum. Someone there was buying late model, low mileage engines out of wrecked vehicles, and listing them on ebay. They were clearing $200 to $400 on each engine, but selling enough to make a living.
They sold an engine to someone, and the buyer paid with a credit card. The buyer had the engine, with no complaints, but filed personal bankruptcy 5 months after getting the engine. There was a charge back through Paypal, who removed the $2200 from the seller's account.
I wonder if we have been at risk all this time, but many sellers didn't know it.
