PBK....Gypsy....I found this old Suspender Clip (Info please)

I found this old suspender clip and it has a patent date on it. PBK or Gypsy....any info? Since the date is pretty clear, I wondered if you might be able to locate a date on it. I searched patents on Google and found tons, but couldn't drill down to mine. Thanks to anyone who can provide me more information.

The date appeared to be 1880 originally, but now after looking, I think it might be 1886.

I am beginning to think the date on this item may be 1890 or 1896 perhaps since 8's and 9's tend to be similar on old shield nickels etc.....

I appreciate anyone/everyone that helps with this.

It stands to reason that yours is another unknown variety to me...



I wonder when someone will put out the 50 volume book on Suspender Clips so that we won't have to wonder anymore.
