last time I had some 'smart a**es' come up to me in the park and ask.... trying to me 'smart'... "what ya looking for with that thing?"... I replied, and in a loud and forceful tone.... "LAND MINES! THEY FOUND ONE HERE LAST NIGHT! SIR... PLEASE STAY OFF THE GRASS!... SIR.... PLEASE STAY ON THE PAVED SURFACES FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!".... amazing how fast they go back on the road or sidewalk... works great if you have any form of camo on and mirrored sunglasses.....

The original post is kind of old, but WOW!!!

I love it when folks try and act like they know more about metal detecting then they do, and then call my metal detector a "gieger counter". I usually just reply that I haven't found any uranium yet, but I am still trying. I've had this happen a couple of times.
