Perfect Conditions - Drilled & Rolled...

Started the day off in the wrong field after my poor navigation using a 1945 aerial shot. Only detected for 5 minutes before we realised but it was too late I had my best Roman Coin of the day :-[ If we find the owner he can have it ::) Once we were in the right field with the interesting looking cropmarks we had little success, other than another Ancient Bronze Awl 8) So decided to move to some nearby drilled Wheat fields where last year we had the odd hammered or two.
This field & the one next to it were much better & we ended the day with:

Our 1st 30th Reg. of Foot Lead-alloy cuff button complete with lead loop  ;D
Medieval Coin Weight (type we need) :)
Silver Spoon (complete but bent) - London 1788 :icon_thumright:

Metal detecting in jolly old England. Where the ancient and antique finds just keep coming and coming. I would imagine that at this point, your finds would fill up a room. I think you're due for one of your really historic finds.

Great on those silvers Cru ! That spoon in the hands of the right silversmith , could be restored
nicely -But might be too costly . Argentium.
