I've been a TNet memmber since last August, and this is the only board I post on. There have been an excessive amount of new members as CRHers. Also lurkers (Yes, I know I'm a lurker since I don't post any more). I was going to stay away from this site for a while, but I have to post about this. Sign this petition to make this board private, to where you must be a member to view the coin roll hunting board.

Thanks to all who sign,
JJ

Thought about this a year ago, this site really should keep lurkers away!

I agree.. it's spreading.. just like having to order more to get the same amount or less in finds. I joined recently but have been doing this for 10 years.. not that I have a lot from it since I don't order as much as others on the board. I had to increase orders of late since this year has been horrible for CRH. How do we sign the petition?

This is rediculous, and just sounds greedy to me.

It is selfish but in this world unfortunately.. that's how it works. People are inherently selfish (reality) and it's only laws and teachings by society that we shouldn't be (idealistically). The only people who can afford to be unselfish are those already at the top. Even then they would only donate just a small portion relative to their own income. Look at how much gridlock in Washington DC and that tells the story of how much people look after their own interests to keep their jobs. Well, imagine if everyone was CRH, you wouldn't be able to find anything anymore. Can you imagine it being as hard to find a 90% Kennedy just as it is to find a 90% quarter? I don't look at quarters but it can be like that if everyone did this. Fortunately, not everyone does. My friends know about it but don't care to do so.

JJ,

Everybody here on TNET is a member. You do have options, purchase a charter membership and start your own forum of sorts is one way. Another is to invest your hard earned time, money and knowledge in your very own website and invite like minded people to join you in your quest for treasure, just like Marc generously did here with Treasurenet.

What makes CRH better than dumpster diving or swinging a detector to the point it warrants a "members only" forum?

In other words, just follow the flock, like the rest of the sheeple.

Too many??????????? Get real.

Lurkers very often turn into members. You just don't want anyone else getting joining the club and searching for silver.

Well, from my experience, if you don't follow the flock, you run into an uphill battle. After several uphill battles, you realize it may not be worth the stress. I've been burned before for looking out for others too much. People take you for granted and in a way you become a slave. The older you get, the less ambitious you are, and generally you go the path of least resistance. Based on my experiences, I'm a cynical person and you can't count on the goodness of others to save your bacon. You have to look after yourself first since most other people in this world are already doing so. It is part of the survival mechanisms that nature has installed in us. Anyhow, I digress. I really don't want to start talking about politics again.

I've had some health issues over the past year and it has led to high medical bills that I owe on top of other bills. I'm currently out of work and so do I need to get or would like to have as many 90% or 40%ers that I can to survive? Some need these coins more than others. I guess I can say I am being selfish in this regard but I am definitely not greedy. Now, if I had 100 K salary job, I really wouldn't care as much or would be involved in another hobby. If he was ranting about someone taking his silver and he's already wealthy, then shame on him for being greedy. Everyone's situation is different.

I really hope that one day the health care system in America can be sorted out but it's doubtful. There's too much self-interest involved with all politicians.

When I started my post, I was not advocating making the forum private. Most people a don't bother to look past the first few forums. My post only wanted to raise awareness that CRH posts ought to be kept in the CRH forum. I want to hobby to be available to people, but I don't want to advertise it

This is also why I left TNet. People aren't being the nicest, or at least their tones don't seem like it. Look all I'm saying is, up to December, it felt like I was the only CRHer. Now, I can barely find half dollars alone.

Me as a CRH do not like to pay extra for coins. I get them at face.

How much will the membership cost you?

Well, I guess that makese it clear. Too bad that we can't make the board private. I just wish that people would keep their mouth shut about CRHing. There is just such overwhlming amount of them these days.

Actually, I thought of this hobby myself when I was bored. I said to myself " I bet I can walk into a bank, buy some rolled coins, and find some old ones." Don't believe me? Look for my post a couple of months ago called "How Did You Get Started?"

And this makes you think that it is all your idea and you want to try to stifle other people who may have also come up with the idea independently or by hearing of someone else who is a CRHer?
I think it is great that so many people who share the same passion can have a forum to discuss same.
My opinion, for what it's worth...

Best Wishes,
Scott

I understand the rules of the forum, I know that if a member wants to post in a different forum they are free to do so. They are not my rules to argue. I just wanted new people to know that there may be ramifications to posting on other forums, something I myself did not understand for quiet some time when I joined. I really did not want to generate this huge argument. I know what happens to people who make a big stink.

I don't think this should be a private forum.I've CRH for a few years as a hobby before joining the forum and did it before it had a name. When I worked retail for 16 yrs and went thru the coin rolls then.I have stopped posting my finds, not because I think it will get other's into CRH or that I'm not finding anything. But still chime in when someone has a nice score or a question.I don't make a living at this. And any newbie that see's a good score that's posted & thinks he/she is going to get rich doing it will quickly see that won't be happening anytime soon.I think it's the bank tellers you have to worry about.2 out of 5 banks I stopped at the other day the tellers told me,you won't find any silver in the rolls because we already checked.I joined this forum to share my interest in the hobbie with others and ask or help answer questions other's post.Sorry if this turned into a rant.
