That’s a beauty pewter plate. A friend of mine once said they’re rarely found because they were basically indestructible. A couple years ago I was lucky enough to find a partially melted one in Maine. One of my favorites. Funny though I don’t see any knife marks. In my opinion, with the hand etching it may be a bit earlier than your estimated age.

To those that know would understand why it’s worthy of a banner vote. The detail is wonderful and man those thing are rare! My vote is going in

1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard DiggetyDoggy! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).
