Pewter Spoon - Maker's Mark?

Hey folks, does anyone recognize this design as a maker's mark on this pewter spoon? It may just be something decorative on the spoon, but it appears to be a crown??? Found it on a site that dates to the 18th century. Thanks!

Hi Stonewall, it appears to be the remains a 'drop', IE the reinforcement to make the handle/bowl junction stronger. In my experience, if pewters have a mark it will be inside the bowl near the handle unlike silver where its generally on the back of the handle. The elongated shape of the bowl is consistent with your site date. HH to ya, Herbie.
