Help with age of ths eagle artillery button.

I found this button at a site today that dates from late 1700s to about the end of the civil war.
Many tomback buttons, early flat buttons, a large dandy button and pewter spoon pieces.

I believe this button is pre-civil war, as it is a one piece. Figuring maybe 1830s? If anyone knows please let me know, thanks.

She’s in great shape. Being a 1-piece, I’m going to say that’s a pretty rare button. Will look when I get home to see if I can help id. It is however a British made button…..which explains its condition. At least around here British brass holds up much better than us made buttons.

Looking at tice…..I’m guessing AY199D. 1821-1830. Didn’t ask you about diameter, but assuming 21mm. Your backmark is listed for a sleeve button, but not for a 19-21mm button.

I’ll reiterate, that’s a fairly (possibly very) rare button. You are also in the enviable position to have found it in great condition with beautiful patina. Congratulations.
