Smittyman and I invaded the North last week. Our campaign lasted for four and half days. It was not easy, but I was able to squeeze a dozen "keeper" coins out of the ground.

1859 Fat IHC. First year of the IHC.
1862 Fat IHC.
1895 IHC.
1909 Lincoln cent: First year of the Lincoln.
1911 Barber half.
1911 Barber quarter.
1943 War Nickel. OD's fav!
1936 Merc.
1942 Merc.
1864 Two cent.
1837 LC.
No date buffalo.

Our success was due in no small part to the hospitality extended to us by the locals. I met one of the nicest guys that you could hope to meet... that was the real treasure of the trip.

Enjoy the pics, thanks for looking, and best of luck on your hunts!

It was indeed a great few days! Let me remind you of a low spot tho.

Remember Eli?

We had an opportunity to hunt a nice old property and as we arrived we were met by Eli - a great big old fat "slow" mixed breed. He must have been 60 or 70 pounds and about 10 years old. After much petting of the dog and speaking to the property owner we started getting our on our gear and Carolina Tom decided to have a snack. Eli was right there watching Tom's every move and especially the Cliff Bar in Tom's hand. Sternly Tom told him No! But that didn't deter old Eli. He waited patiently and for some reason Tom put the protein bar down on the tailgate - Eli saw his chance and dived for it! Tom grabbed for it and it fell to the ground - it was all over but the cussin. Eli trotted about thirty feet away and scarfed the bar down then casually moseyed down the hill grinning - much to Tom's chagrin. Who says an old dog can't teach a Tom a new trick.

Please tell me you have pics or a video of this! That's funny right there...I don't care who you are.
