Picked up 2 CWR of Halves...

My first pickup ever... I ordered two boxes of halves and the teller tells me she also has two CWRs from today and do I want them too? Imagine my excitement when I see what she hands me!



Opened them up and they were skunks. Ended up being disappointing, but I've still got the two boxes to look forward to tonight.

Were the coins 1970 halves? if so, they were actually 40% silver.
Some new CRH'ers don't know that.

Hi Hunter & Buffalo, I've been lurking around here for some time and finally decided to create an account. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Unfortunately they weren't, though that would've likely been the best first-find ever. Strangely, they seemed to have been sorted '71-83 in one roll and '84 and up in the other. Those old wrappers and the writing sure looked promising though!

That sucks!

Although I have been known to write "1964" or "walking liberty" on the sides of rolls and bring them into banks that have rude/mean sniping tellers.
