Well half way through box one and found a 1938-d buffalo plus several pre60s. Last week son pulled a no date buff just ordered nicadate , figured isnt worth anything with no date so nothing to lose but the 38-d looks nice for age and can read date. Still gonna research though up to speed on most coins but early nickles. :hello2:

Awesome. So far, I've found one buffalo nickel, and it's a 1913-S type one. Talk about beginners luck!

hmm no response maybe its not a key date but is a keeper :laughing9:

1938-D isn't a key date :( But yes, it is definitely a keeper! If it's in good condition, it's worth about 2-3 dollars. Look for three types of RPM's and about five D over S varieties.

Just wondering my redbook listed it at a couple bucks higher than alot of the rest in all grades, and think only 7 million some mintage

I'd be very happy to find a '38D or Mr. Cheese's '13. I mostly find dateless and '37s and '36s from Philly.
