Hudson motor cars were built like tanks and unfortunately they looked a lot like them too! Check the old race records prior to the overhead valve V-8s and you will see that Hudson dominated the NASCAR circuit in the late forties and early fifties. My highschool buddy had a last of the line 1954 model. He and I and our dates were on our way back home when a group of thugs tried to force us off the road with no telling what in mind. That old Hudson pushed that dinky little Chevy off in the ditch like a bulldozer! They were arrested by the County Sheriff who found them still wrecked in the ditch and the old Hudson had hardly a scratch on it! Monty

Thanks for all of the suggestions, everyone. I am going to pick the brain of my bro-in-law when he gets back to town. He is a restorer of classic cars and probably has seen this thing somewhere along the line.
