I think its an old Army lapel pin. It has the US and a 16 underneath of it. I figured out how to attach the rest. Sorry.

I detect on Pope AFB in North Carolina. I have found a few silver on base and posted those awhile back. I have found everything out in the wooded areas, thats the only places I'm allowed to hunt. Base beautification and all. I think Fort Bragg used the area as a training ground for thier troops due to all of the spent rounds I have found. At least I'm allowed to hunt.

Birdman,

That would be cool but right now it looks like I may be headed to Guam in May. Give me a shout if you get here before then.

Pope has been fairly good for finds and it gets me my fix when I need it. Fort Bragg is strictly off limits for detecting. If they catch you all equipment will be confiscated to include your vehicle and you will be arrested, so if you get back this way be careful detecting on Bragg. They aren't playing around. They caught some people not too long ago. It cost them a pretty penny.

That handle thingy looks like one off of an aluminum ice cube tray.
