pin pointer

I see they are finally including a lanyard too. I am disappointed that they are still selling the old pointer at $110. I think $99 would be more reasonable. But may happen in time. At least the used propointers will be cheaper now. Making the old one cheaper would hurt Deteknix and the new one with no falsing and waterproof hurts Makro. Looks like Garrett is putting their thinking caps on. Now if Fisher would make their F-series detectors waterproof, we would see some real good competition.

Hmm I didn't notice that. Now that I'm looking there's no release date on it. Any idea on when it will be?

It looks like Deteknix is also turning out a waterproof pinpointer for scuba divers. Waterproof to 40 meters! Will be available this spring.

If you want waterproof and Deteknix, wait till spring. They will have a pinpointer waterproof to 120 feet!

For me the Makro pinpointer followed by the Garrett Pro Pointer.

I like the TRX but the 2" dead space on the probe is a deal breaker. It also would sometimes cause interference with my CTX.

I think that the one that Garrett is coming out with will be a great tool because it has the shortcomings in the Pro Pointer addressed, plus it is waterproof and adjustable.

I think that if you don't need one to go down to 10' feet then save the $20 and get the Makro. The Makro isn't as adjustable as the TRX (the TRX had the greatest range of all the PP I have used) but it will find a quarter at 4 inches on high.

I have had numerous pin pointers then I went to the Sun Ray invader XL1 on my White's XLT and the DX1 on my White's VX3. I would never have anything else.
The depth is outstanding and uses the power from your detector.

"Garrett has addressed the problems" The crystal ball does not reach into the pin pointer world.
That data is only found out after release by all of us users after a few hard trips to the dirt. Why don't we just say "we hope that Garrett has addressed those issues.

cowboyup- Welcome to T-Net! (From a Packer Fan)

I got a 'Zircon M40 Stud Finder' as a hand held pin pointer. It's easy to use- just point & pull the trigger.
I think I payed $29 for it.
It is designed to help woodworkers find the hidden nails that hold drywall panels the studs (frames) of walls.
Can be found at any hardware store. Zircon makes a few different models of stud finders, so be sure to go for the 'M40'.

It works well for me until I can get the "Pro Pointer".
