ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) — A man is accused of pretending to be a member of rock band Pink Floyd at a Minnesota hospital — and racking up as much as $100,000 in unpaid medical bills.
Police say the 53-year-old Monticello man went to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment April 20. He claimed he was Pink Floyd singer-guitarist David Gilmour and that he didn't have health insurance. He was treated and released, but not before signing an autograph.

My Doctor told me this story. He did his intern stint at a NJ Hospital. A woman came in the ER around 0400 and delivered her baby within an hour or two. The staff did the prep work on the new baby and gave it to her to nurse. As soon as the staff left the area, the woman bailed with the new baby. Out the door. Fake name and all.

But to the real story, again early morning, a year or so later my Doctor was pulling the same ER night shift for extra money. Same woman came in, delivered a baby with in an hour or two and was out the door just like the first time. My Doc recognized her and was notifying the hospital authorities while she was in delivery. To late. Took prep'ed baby and fled into the night. Doc says things like that happen more often that we might think. At least she went to a hospital.
