Here are some pics of some of the finds we uncovered at Pipsico....enjoy!

To see ALL photos....click on my website under my profile pic....the albums are labled PIPSICO 3RD HUNT (day).

Thanks for looking from all of us of the VACards of Pipsico!

1st Pic: (left to right): StogieJim, VHSkip (sitting), Ron(andAnn), Ex2User, Rowdy (sitting maroon shirt), DCMatt, Mike (Ex2User's son standing behind DCMatt with his Dad's arm covering his face >:() and Kiros. The two little boys are RonandAnn's son's. They too, metal detected a short while and found a few things.

2nd Pic: CryptoDave and TheSleeper

3rd Pic: StogieJim regressing back in time ;D with the boys of RonandAnn and Gary60 (now Sndman60). Jim, you are so cute! :)

4th Pic: CryptoDave teaching DCMatt the "Metal Detecting Swing Dance" ;D :tongue3:

5th Pic: The "BEST SIDES OF METAL DETECTORS" ? ::) :P ;D

6th Pic: Gary60 (now Sndman60)'s wife....she had a great time and think we got another hooked!!!! She found 2 silver dimes...WTG!!!

7th Pic: Mike and DCMatt in a HOT SPOT! This area produced a bottle pit, a large cent, a barber dime......

8th Pic: TheSleeper and Angela (CryptoDave's Better Half :) )...coming from the location of possible Slave Quarters location. In 1937....this area was open fields...no trees!!!

9th Pic: Some bottles retrieved. On the far left is a cup, handle broke. The green bottle, not known yet. The brown bottle has BURNETT'S on the side of it. The clear one laying down has "RAWLEIGHS Trade Mark" on it. The round one with the crusted lid is the CAVALIER BOOT CREME (newspaper research shows this creme from the 40's and 50's), and the one on the far right looks like it had a bottle dropper in it, like ear drops or nose drops. On the RAWLEIGHS bottle...it has numbers on the sides, for measurement. You can see more pics in the albums.

10th Pic: Kiros ... right after finding a Barber Dime!!! WTG!

11th Pic: Stacey...Glad you were able to come out, even though it was only for a couple of hours...see you in October for a longer stay!!!

12th Pic: Justin, Stacey's Son...her partner in detecting!! Good to see you again Justin...hope to see you and your Mom again come October for a longer stay!

Another post following this one......

Great Pics Ann...Looks like you all were having a fantastic time! Nice to see member photos!

Looks like a good get together--looks like it may have been cold too.

Here's more:

1st Pic: DCMatt's 1865 2 cent find....Awesome!!

2nd Pic: Kiros 1905 S Dime...another Awesome find!!

3rd Pic: Gary60 (now Sndman60) with one of his sons....Glad to have you and the family as part of the VACards!

4th Pic: Possible location of Slave Quarters in the 1850's time frame. Note...this area was open field on a 1937 map....how long afterwards, don't know yet...but these trees were already popping up when the BSA bought the land in the late 50's.

5th Pic: Barn in same location as on the 1937 map...the smoke house was to the right of the this barn. The BSA tore down the Smoke House, due to the BS climbing in it and some getting hurt, some seriously. Many were heartbroken to see it come down...the road to Camp Lions runs over the location of the Smoke House, as per Ranger Dan. To the left of the barn was the hog pen and behind it was the chicken coop.

6th Pic: DCMatt's 1852 Large Cent...AWESOME!!!

7th Pic: Enjoying Dinner Time...Kidney Beans and Rice, Chili and Cornbread, Brautwurst, ...good eatins!!!!

8th Pic: Some of the finds from the first day.....see all that trash???? PULL IT...DON'T REBURY IT!!! BSA: Leave No Trace!!!

9th Pic: Some of Saturday's Dinner....brautwurst, tators and sausage, Chili, Kidney Beans and Ham, rice, corn bread, bread, sghetti, hamburgers, hot dogs.....good eatins!!!

10th Pic: Kiros and his button!!!

11th Pic: Ex2User's Buckle....Awesome!

12th Pic: StogieJim's Cuff Button!!!!

More Pics to come...bear with me....

More Pics....hope I'm not boring you! LOL

GypsyHeart and Stryker-One....it was an awesome time and we did have a great time getting together and hunting together.....

FourLeaf...you're not too far...you should come on our next one...will be sometime in October....

The weather was a bit nippy...Friday gave us upon arrival....LARGE BUMBLEBEES flying all around us with SKEETERS coming in to join the party later....I still have SKEETER scars LOL...

Saturday was in the high 50's...with it staying around the mid 40's at night...was chilly waking up Sunday morning...we woke up to SLEET!!!! But that did not stop these dedicated detectorists!!!!

Monday, it was pretty warm...of course, it was the day we left LOL....

Enjoy the pics.........

1st Pic: Rowdy's Bullet....is this Civil War?

2nd and 3rd Pic: The BOYS watching a DVD on Metal Detecting!!!

4th Pic: What is this? Is this from a stove? Any ideas?

5th Pic: This is what I found....am told it may be Victorian from about the 1880's...a butterfly belt buckle...will have to search for the other piece when I go back!!!

6th Pic: The 1891 Indian Head cent Ex2User found!

7th Pic: A 1946 Walking Liberty found by Mike, Ex2User's Son...WTG!!! Now Mike, you need to find 2 Ben Franklin's and another Liberty to tie with your Dad....even though you left this hunt with MORE SILVER than your Dad! WTG!!! Sorry Eric! LOL

8th Pic: This is the button StogieJim found...I can read GILT on the back, but can't really see what else it says....

9th Pic: This is a button Ron found! Has some kind of design on the back....

10th Pic: Hauling in the wood....cause we woke up to SLEET.....had to keep warm!!!

11th Pic: StogieJim's Tent...you can see the sleet coming down and a few spots around it where it settled on the ground and then our tent...after we put up a tarp (which kept the tent warmer :) )....you can see the sleet....but it didn't matter...they still went out detecting...

12th Pic: You can see some out there...others went to other locations....the weather did not dampen their spirits!!!

Hope you enjoyed the pics!

BRRR! SLEET! :P But dang, looks like a GREAT time, ya'll! The finds are awesome! So good to get to see all the pictures, Ann! Thanks for taking us along!

Nana :)

Thanks for posting these Ann. Honestly there were a TON of fantastic finds on this trip. Ann only posted a few of the pics. Wish we could have come for longer - next time for sure. Justin had a great time.

Nice pics Ron and Ann! Must have been a fun time and HH, Mike

Congrats on a great hunt Annmarie! It seems like the finds are getting better and better with each hunt. There were actually some nice keepers found at this one! I love that 2 cent piece!! Looks like you guys froze your buns off alittle though. ;D I know it was cold because I was out in it as well hunting in Culpeper. But never worry it looks like you fed everyone really well and looks like it generally was a good time with some nice finds.....I know that Ranger Dan was happy to have all those finds!!!!
