Places to try?

Thinking of getting a metal detector; curious if there are plenty of spots in Auburn,CA to try as I am 15 minutes away.

Doing more gold panning in the area but think the wife would enjoy metal detecting even more so.

Any ideas or help would be great! Thank you

There's a club in Sacramento area. A lot of the guys there are into nuggets, panning, sluicing, etc... (as opposed to coins, relics, etc....). So I'd recommend joining in on their monthly meetings.
