For every 100 gold rings I find in South Florida, there is at least one good diamond ring a year that has what it takes to find a new home in my wife's jewelry box. These diamond rings were all found at different beaches in South Florida over the last few years using my Minelab Excalibur and Sovereign GT.

Wow.... you lucky bum

Wow man....those are nice! I have the same two detectors (which I love!) but not the same luck.....YET!

Gary, you have found some of the most amazing treasures I have seen posted on this site. As soon as I buy my next water machine, I will be buying your books to go along with it. How many pieces of gold jewelry do you figure you find on average in a given year?

Thanks for the compliment, it has been a little slow for gold jewelry finds over the last few years but I still manage to find approximately 150 pieces of gold jewelry a year as a part time beach and shallow water hunter.
I found 50 pieces of gold jewelry (6 ounces) over a three week period towards the end of last year.
There are many full time beach and water hunters in South Florida so I make sure I use my metal detecting time wisely.
Site selection, beach/water reading skills and metal detecting technique have to be spot on in heavily hunted areas.
Best of luck
Gary
