Don't know much about jewelry.

When I pulled it up my eyes could only make
out ART something and the PLAT. Figured it
was costume and plated.

Wedding band;
Heavy, bit over 1/2 oz. :o

Marked: ARTCARVED, (funny looking E, looks
like a rounded M on its side), followed by PLAT.

If it's what I think it may be :D ;D :o

Made a few calls, told to bring it in.
Checked out Artcarved on web and they have
some big price items. Artcarved is not in the
business of plated items.

Could be one of those finds that help pay
for....................

Happy days...............

Any comments or help on I.D. appreciated.

all have a good un...........

Congrats Sherm! What a find!!! Rough melt value if 1/2 oz is somewhere around $575.

Jewelry that contains at least 950 parts per thousand of pure platinum may be marked or described as "Platinum"

Jewelry that contains 850, 900 or 950 parts per thousand of pure platinum may be marked "Plat" or "Pt" if a number is used in front of the term to disclose the amount of pure platinum in the mix, such as
"850 Plat" or "850 Pt", or
"950 Plat" or "950 Pt"

Nice going. You have an Artcarved Platinum ring. I have found several and Artcarved is the manufacture. An upscale manufacture that you can trust to produce true to Hallmark jewelry.

Platinum is now trading at $1,222.50 troy oz. Most of the ArtCarved platinum rings that I've seen are .950 fine.
So, 1/2 oz. of .950 platinum would have a bullion (scrap) value of about $580.69, less whatever buyer's margin is agreed upon.

BTW, here's a neat precious metals calculator site:

Get that puppy polished up and this would be a good opening bid on eBay!

Well done Sherm, awesome find!
