Pleasantly Surprised At Response From Buying Bags

I asked to buy a bag several days ago and had great results with 3 90s and 28 40s so I decided to start asking other banks about buying bags today. I asked a total of 4 tellers today and was sold 1 and told by other 3 they would sell it to me when they were full. The bag I got today was most likely someones dump as it was a skunk with many marks throughout. It is clear to me buying half boxes in my area is not a good thing - (see my other posts) They key is to find banks that will sell me the bags that is not anothers dumping ground. It opens up another avenue to CRH that could be huge should I stumble across Old man Jenkins collection his grand kids dumped. I have seen many posts from members who have scored huge on bags and that is very exciting!

The best I ever did on a bag was 40 90% halves from a $100 bag. In my small towns they just don't fill very fast.

Only a few banks in this area use Brinks. Mostly all I can get nowadays are bags and they stink like the few Brinks boxes I can get. I've been through 16 bags now without a keeper. Maybe your luck will be better.

if you can buy bags right off the machines you are one lucky,lucky,lucky dog.i'd be curious as to what state this is still allowed.because around here there is'nt going to happen.from what i figured out i'm guessing that the carriers that take the bags from the banks and skim most of the silver for their companies.because every bank i go to and ask the question the answer is we cant do that.when i ask why they say we just cant.so it must be classified information.then i found out the banks don't even own the coin counters.WHAT?good luck and HH-nomad

I dont believe the companies can cull silver because they do not own the coins the banks do.

I think that they can't sell you the bag until it gets full. If they started messing around selling bags the weren't full coin counts are more likely to get messed up. Or perhaps someone in a position of authority wants to get the silver for themselves.

Was making a trip for halves and didn't want to invade your area. Are you from Ames, Fort Dodge, or Mason City. I saw that you said Central Iowa.
