Its like a Louisana confederate infantry button,but I can't find the same exact one in Albert's book.What state was it found in?

also is that a C or a G ? it reminds me of the G on my Mason Ring a little :)

I wrote to this gentlemen and he identified the Button. thanks all....Jess

Jessie, It is identified in Alphaeus H. Albert's, Record of American Uniform and Historical Buttons as a button of Columbian Institute. No further information is provided. By backmark, the button is from the late 1800's and definitely post dates the American Civil War. It is interesting, but not valuable.
