Please help ID

Hello again,
Was out metal detecting with my two kids and we stumbled across a few things we can't ID and we would also like to date them if possible. We found the wood items laying on the ground in a small valley. We then picked up the metal clasps and hooks about a foot away. The metal items where buried from one inch to 10 inches down, we also found an old bottle in the hole with the metal objects. These items were found in the Mojave Desert close to the Calico Mountain. Our best guess is that the metal items were part of a backpack that the fabric or canvas had rotted away.

We greatly appreciate any and all help.

Not sure about the wood thing, but the clasps, hooks, and clips things seem reminiscent of 1910s/20s type era. Those things are common in a calvary camp/fort location near me, which dates from 1902 to the late 1930s.

Looks like it is a WW1 shelter half pole. Cool find.

That type of pole was still used in the 60's left over from WWII

Well the plastic lid dates it much closer to now than the other stuff. But an old backpack might be a good guess. The one wooden one looks to be for crushing things, but not sure what. Maybe some soft ore?

In the early 90s we had moved to the 3 piece type, I am not sure if it was an upgrade. lol
