Hey I detect on beaches so to my belief that’s is a dirty caked piece of jewelry necklace or bracelet . That’s what happens to non gold or silver over time called corrosion u should clean look for a stamp if u can see that it’s hand made possibly old or colonial be gentle no chemicals

Can you take some pics of it with something else in the pic for size comparison and post them?

Ever think of cleaning your item prior to posting ?

This would help not only me ... but others here immensely.

At least a heavy rinse after a good soak in bowl of soapy water at the very least.

Dog choker chain

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

lots of possibilities, congrats

I think a dogs choker chain also.

Ummm? Hard to identify in the present state but would be interested after the host is removed. Good luck!

Interesting...SMH!

Interesting find, looks like a silver chain! :occasion14:

I'm not a 100% sure but it looks like part of a fob-watch chain with the Watch Winder attached.

Chain dog collar...minus one dog.

Try reverse electrolysis. All the concretions will fall away quickly.

I like the choke chain idea. Looks like a couple that I have found, although mine came from dirt and are more identifiable.
