Please help indentify this rock.

Found in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. VERY heavy for its size. I had part of it cut and it was EXTREMELY hard to cut with a 24 inch diamond blade saw. Vey smooth to the touch . It was in high elevation so i am guessing it was moved and deposited by the glaciers.

I got a red and black rock that looks similar to this.. will be interesting to see what it is.

I'd be willing to bet it's hornfels. Looks a lot like a much smaller piece i have from lower peninsula MI

See the green and black striped one in this pic? That's hornfels, looks nearly identical to what you have there

They call it Leverrite.When spotted,leave er' right there!
