It kind of depends what kind of terrain you are detecting on. The heaviness of soil and other types is also something that would help determine detector

It kind of depends what kind of terrain you are detecting on. The heaviness of soil and other types is also something that would help determine detector

The quality of the soil is red or clayey soaked in iron oxide

the first 2 are by eye, obviously experience is of value
GPR (ground penetrating radar) is a pricy technology requiring the use of custom equipment, technicians, and engineers - I know nothing
don't know that there are many GPR user/posters here

edit: you would benefit enormously by having a GPR experienced archaeologist on your team
a night-hawking arche ? ? (some post here, fish gently - soft mouths)

At extreme depth you are probably going to have to hire a Geophysicists to survey the ground for you to look for anomalies or voids.

I have no experience. I am not aware of any consumer level equipment that will achieve what you want to do.
